I am going to upload my draft website for everyone to browse. Hopefully I will get some feedback as to what is working well and what isn’t. Also things that could be improved etc.

I am just working on my website – trying to figure things out. Let me know what you think.
This is the original website index page that I created last semester. I am now playing around with a few ideas and changes.
One of the changes I think is necessary is putting on a subtitle which explains what I do.
So I have added ‘Metalsmith and Designer’ under the Kemmo title. But I think to me it doesn’t look that great. It is starting to look messy and complicated and that is not the look I am after.
As you can see I have also moved my tool bar to the top of the page from the bottom. This was in response to a post from my web art class blog on web design theory – which talks about eye tracking.
So this is the same page as the original with the tool bar moved to the top of the page.

Today in my web art class I was doing more designing on photoshop for my website. I was fiddling round with the image I have posted in the earlier post about the website and have decided I don’t like it. Maybe it is the asymmetry of the image – having all text and image on one side. So I came up with this more symmetrical design, which I think I am happier with. It is a cleaner and crisper looking page I think. I am still working on it and no doubt everything will change. Let me know what you think!
As part of my web art class, we have to design a website. Now it was suggested that I could use my research and progress of this assignment as posts on my blog – so right now I am playing around on photoshop to get an idea and feel of the look I want for my official website. I want it to be minimalist and clean. Do you think I am achieving this? I am unsure if I want to put my name or whether I will work under the name Kemmo. Here is an image to give you an idea of my thoughts. Please let me know what you think, I appreciate helpful feedback.

Now the graphics are not perfect, these are just drafts for me to work off. I have several other variations – but this one was my first attempt and funnily enough I like it the most, and keep coming back to it.
Is the font too flowery for the minimal look I am getting at?
